May AIM Lunch Meeting - The Employee, Employer and Employment Implications of AI
Please join us on Thursday, May 14th for a panel discussion on how AI is and is not changing the employment landscape. As AI becomes more pervasive, what happens to traditional technology roles? And, what is the role of a technology leader and department if anyone in an organization can use AI for what have historically required technical skills?
This session might not answer every question on the topic but it will be informative and instructive.
This event is sponsored by: Okta
Okta provides a comprehensive identity management platform divided into two primary clouds: the Workforce Identity Cloud, which secures employee and partner access to internal resources, and the Customer Identity Cloud (powered by Auth0), which helps developers build secure login experiences for external users. Their product suite includes essential security tools such as Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Identity Governance, as well as emerging solutions like Okta for AI Agents designed to secure autonomous digital entities.

Think about the leaders who move work forward without relying on authority.
They create trust, bring clarity to competing priorities, and help teams make decisions, even when accountability is shared.
Today, many technical professionals are expected to lead across teams, influence outcomes, and take ownership before they’re given formal authority. When leaders don’t have the tools to do this well, execution slows, escalation increases, and leadership bottlenecks form.
The AIM Utah Leadership Development Institute (LDI) develops technical leaders who are effective without relying on position. Leaders who strengthen execution, earn trust, and move work forward in complex environments.
LDI is a three-session, cohort-based program focused entirely on influential leadership.
Through instruction, discussion, and real-world practice, participants learn how to:
Clarify and intentionally shape their personal leadership brand
Influence peers, leaders, and teams without relying on title
Build trust and accountability that strengthen execution
Navigate difficult conversations and decisions with confidence
Recognize and act on everyday opportunities to lead, regardless of role
Participants leave with practical tools they can apply immediately, increasing their effectiveness, credibility, and readiness for broader responsibility.
LDI is delivered across three in-person sessions. Each session builds on the previous one, developing self-awareness, influence, and leadership effectiveness over time.
Session One: Discovering and Understanding My Leadership Brand How behavior, intention, and reputation shape influence.
Session Two: The Practices of Influential Leadership Practical approaches for influencing outcomes and building trust.
Session Three: Recognizing and Seizing Opportunities to Grow Influence Identifying moments to lead and expand impact through others.
Session One: Friday, September 4 | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Session Two: Friday, October 2 | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Session Three: Monday, November 30 | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Each session includes content, hands-on practice, lunch, beverages, and snacks.
Program Cost: $1,500 (covers all three sessions)
A Connected Leadership Development Experience for Technology Leaders
Leadership complexity increases long before most leaders are formally prepared for it.
As responsibility expands, success depends less on technical execution and more on influence, clarity of thought, and behavioral discipline under pressure.
LDI Plus is intentionally designed for IT leaders operating in real technology environments. It is not a generic management workshop. It is a structured development arc built specifically for leaders navigating scale, ambiguity, and cross-functional influence.
Participants complete LDI Plus with:
Clear awareness of their natural leadership patterns and stress responses
Direct visibility into how their leadership is experienced by others
Greater ability to regulate behavior when stakes are high
Increased effectiveness influencing peers, stakeholders, and executive leadership
A practical, personalized development plan supported by executive coaching
Leaders do not simply gain insight. They build ownership for how they show up when complexity rises.
Organizations that invest in LDI Plus leaders often observe:
Stronger cross-functional collaboration across technical and business teams
More stable and disciplined decision-making under pressure
Reduced friction caused by unexamined stress behaviors
Increased leadership accountability without increased oversight
Influence that extends beyond formal authority
The return is sustained behavioral change that strengthens leadership capacity long after the program ends.
LDI Plus connects three elements that are often delivered in isolation and integrates them into one deliberate progression.
Birkman Assessment Builds shared language around natural behaviors, motivations, and stress patterns.
Leadership Circle Profile 360 Creates structured visibility into the gap between intent and impact.
One-on-One Executive Coaching Ensures feedback becomes intentional action rather than unused insight.
Participants engage in a curated cross-company cohort of Utah technology leaders, creating peer calibration and perspective that cannot be replicated inside a single organization.
Session One: Friday, September 11 | 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Session Two: Friday, October 09 | 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Session Three: Friday, December 04 | 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Organizations frequently sponsor high-potential leaders to strengthen leadership readiness across their teams. Individual registration is also welcome.
