New Format for CIO Roundtables - Please READ

After discussion with the AIM Board and with the attendees at the September CIO Roundtable, we are going to try a new format for the CIO Roundtables.  This Roundtable will have the following format:

  • 11:00 AM - Discussion Topic 1 (Internet of Things)
  • 11:45 AM - Lunch and table discussions
  • 12:15 PM - Discussion Topic 2 (FBI SA Mark Roberts & Cyber Security)

Also new, you are invited to bring one direct report if you think the topic(s) would be beneficial.    If you want to bring someone, please say so when you RSVP.

Internet of Things - Matt Eyring (Vivint)

Matt Eyring is the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Vivint Smart Home, the leading smart home services provider in North America. He oversees the Vivint Innovation Center, which includes the company's technology, product development, new business development, and strategy functions. Fast Company named Vivint one of the World's 50 Most Innovative Companies in 2017.

Before joining Vivint in 2012, Matt was the Managing Partner of Innosight, a global strategy and innovation consulting firm. He led worldwide strategy and operations, as well as the healthcare and emerging markets practices. Matt was one of the founding partners at the firm with Clayton Christensen, and helped the firm grow to its current leadership position.

Matt currently serves on the National Presidential Advisory Board of Utah Valley University. He is the co-author of several Harvard Business Review articles. Matt has a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Utah and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

FBI & Cyber Security - Mark J Roberts (FBI)

Mark J Roberts, a Special Agent with the FBI, will discuss the Cyber Security landscape from the FBI perspective, followed by a Q&A session.

“CIO-Only” Roundtable Luncheons are held every 6 to 8 weeks. These invitation-only events are reserved for the top IT position in our member companies.  (Participating companies need to have an IT staff of 6 or more). This is a great opportunity to network with peers and find out how they are addressing technical and leadership issues that may be similar to yours! The luncheons are vendor-free and we average 35+ attendees.

AIM Utah sponsors these CIO Roundtables and other CIO-Only events. All Luncheons are held at member facilities.

Current schedule for future Roundtables:

  • December 15, 2017
  • March 23, 2018
  • May 18, 2018

If you have any questions about these events, please e-mail James King jamesk@xmission.com

Thanks to the 2017 sponsors of the CIO Roundtables who also cover the membership fees for our CIO Members:  First Digital and Summit Partners
