Building Effective Relationships at Work

Your organization’s most important asset isn’t just your people. It’s what happens between your people—how well they respect and treat each other every day—that creates your organization’s ultimate competitive advantage.

In the keynote based on his best seller book, Get Better: 15 Practices to Building Effective Relationships at Work, FranklinCovey’s Chief People Officer, Todd Davis, shares insights from his 30+ year career observing and coaching people at all levels inside organizations.

Through authentic stories, powerful videos, and applicable job tools, Todd explores common relationship pitfalls that affect careers and results, and shares proven practices that help individuals increase their influence and master the skills of effective relationships at work.

In the keynote, Todd quickly reviews all 15 practices and then takes a deeper dive into 3 or 4 as time allows. The 4 practices he typically covers are:

1. Wear Glasses That Work — View yourself and others in ways that foster strong relationships.

2. Behave Your Way to Credibility —Demonstrate the character and competence vital to establishing credibility in the workplace.

3. Play Your Roles Well — Identify your most important professional and personal roles and the key contribution you hope to make in each one.

4. Make it Safe to Tell the Truth – Develop the skill to invite and receive feedback effectively, making it safe for others to tell you the truth.
