I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 11, 1988. My dad says that I was almost born in the car on the way to the hospital. I already had an older brother when I got here, and in the coming years I got two more sisters and two more brothers. When I was seven years old my mom passed away from breast cancer. It was a hard time for all of us but we got through it and became stronger for it. My dad got remarried about 18 months after my birth mother died. Getting married so soon after mom died seemed like a bad choice, but looking back on it I believe that it was the best choice to make. My step mom is one of the best people that I know and one of the reasons I'm at a university getting a degree. My family lived in Draper and then in my grandparents' house in Holiday while they served a mission for the LDS church. When I was 13 my family moved to Bountiful, Utah. I went to Mueller Park Jr. High School for three years followed by Bountiful High School. In high school I was interested in computers, art, drama and music. I played the trumpet in the wind orchestra, jazz band, and pep band. I was in three musicals, two plays, and president of the swing dance club. I graduated from high school in 2006. I went to Snow College for a year right after high school. At the end of that year, I served an LDS mission to Ukraine speaking Russian. I learned to speak Russian fluently and fell in love with Ukraine and her people. I returned home from Ukraine two days after the beginning of fall semester 2009 at Snow College. I rushed into classes and had a good year at Snow College. I graduated with an Associate of Arts in 2010. During my fist year at Snow College back in 2007 I met a girl named Annalise. We wrote off and on while I was in Ukraine. When I came home we started dating again and on June 11, 2010, we got married. After the wedding we moved to Logan, and we've been here ever since. Although I'm a senior in college, I'm a junior in the MIS program. Thus, I'll be here for a couple more years. I plan on graduating in 2013 and then either getting a job and moving to Salt Lake, or getting a master's degree. |
